Lady Liberty's Crown to Reopen

It's official! The Statue of Liberty's crown will reopen to visitors July 4th, 2009. Despite having traveled to the city fairly regularly since I was a toddler, I've never been to Liberty Island. After 9/11, I thought I'd lost my chance to enjoy the view from the crown.

Note to Staten Island family: next time I'm in town, who's up for a trip to Liberty Island with me?
