Ceremony Preview

I spent Saturday afternoon testing out our ceremony decor idea in Jeff's parents backyard in Sisters. We purchased these extremely affordable hanging vases from cb2 and used simple wooden dowels in place of traditional shepherds hooks. I love the delicate definition these vases give the aisle. Our plan is to reuse the vases in our home either as wall decor or integrated into a custom chandelier above our kitchen table. Success!

In the Kitchen

Getting a little bit of a late start today - whew! I Ran across this beautifully designed kitchen over @ Design Therapy. I almost always love the use of the kitchen window as a backdrop to display gallery-worthy dishware and serving pieces. In this instance, the large Pine is a gorgeous canvas on which to display the client's art glass collection in an array of colors.

Coco Donuts!

Can you really love a donut? That is the question I asked after biting into the new Coco glazed conveniently available across the street from my condo. Portland's VooDoo Donuts get's a lot of press for it's off the wall style and it's I don't care that you don't care attitude, but I have to say that their taste is severely lacking. With Coco Donuts, you get straightforward varieties, a dash of style, and uber delicious melt-in-your-mouth flavor. No attitude or greasy-haired counterworkers in sight.

Could the Coco donut be the new wedding cupcake?

New Egg Press

I certainly lived vicariously through all those attending the big stationary show in New York last month. Bloggers like Vane and Grace shared *hundreds of images from the event and I was consistently amazed by all of the talent sharing such good design with the general public. Alas, once their posts were done, so was my daily dose of letterpress goodness.

Forward to Saturday...

I love getting goodies in the mail, and when it's a big white envelope from Egg Press, I know it's going to be good! I carefully and quickly ripped it open to find samples of their latest designs. It's Christmas in June here at the Conway|Guggenheim condo! You can't go wrong when you mix Gnomes and the Christmas spirit, really. Thanks to Egg Press for their lovely new letterpress greeting cards and making my Saturday!

*quite possibly thousands
!

Enjoy!

On the Boards: Russell Residence

I'm really looking forward to Fig Studio's latest project, furnishing this amazing Surf Pines beach house near Gearhart, Oregon. Nestled behind a beautiful tall grass buffer, this modern ocean retreat is surely a welcome oasis for it's busy owners. The Great Room, which encompasses a chef's kitchen, a large dining space, and roomy lounge, will be furnished with modern yet comfortable pieces. Stay tuned for finished photos in September!

Jeff & Jenny on Brooklyn Bride!

Hi Everyone! Brooklyn Bride is having a save-the-date extravaganza and Vane was kind enough to post our little project. Thanks, Vane!

Back Soon!

Between spotty internet access and a trip to the coast, posting just wasn't in the cards this weekend. Stay tuned!

DIY Photobooth

We all know the event photobooth has made a surge in popularity over the last few years, but I'm certain there's got to be some more elegant and creative options out there. Though I love the concept of the photobooth, I'm not sure I like the fact that it truely takes the context out of the photo. I guess that's the Interior Designer talking...

Check out this great image captured by Lillian and Leonard at a recent wedding. The gorgeous Scottish coastline serves at the backdrop and the subjects are contained within a lightweight painted wooden frame. I'm not sure how the frame is supported in this particular image, but you could easily hang yours from a treebranch, a rafter, or use a delicate tripod.

Do you have a DIY photobooth to share? I'd love to see it!

NW Examiner Contributer!

It's no New York Times, but it's still pretty cool! I was asked to contribute short restaurant reviews for Fenouil and Laurelwood Public House for the June issue of the NW Examiner. I think they turned out pretty well! You can pickup your copy of the Examiner on NW 23rd Ave. in Portland. Maybe next time I'll get a byline...

What do y'all think of these NW establishments?

Fresh Cut Sundays: Kruger's Farm

My friend Erin's in town from NYC and we decided to take a jaunt over to Kruger's Farm on Sauvie Island last Thursday. To my surprise, the Peonies were out and ready to cut! We had a blast inspecting each bud and picking a few of our favorites. The Strawberry fields are also ripe and ready to pick! We each gathered a few containers worth and managed to leave the island before the crazy rain/thunder/lightning storm that rolled in that afternoon. Happy Sunday!

Does anyone know how well Peonies dry?

We ate these with homecooked waffels for dinner!

Erin's Bounty!

My Favorite bloom from the field. It looks lovely in this vase I picked up at a University of Oregon art student Valentine's day sale.

Cheers!

My oh-so-thoughtful friend, Heather, sent me these lovely letterpressed coasters from 12fifteen as a bridal shower gift. She's currently living in Geneva, Switzerland with her husband Scott (one of Jeff's good buddies and groomsman) and won't be able to make it to the real deal on the 20th. You may remember this post drooling over pressed coasters...now I need to throw a party! Thanks Heather, they're beautiful!

12fifteen threw in these 4 bonus coasters. I especially love the little blue bubbles.

Our Save The Date

Did they or didn't they? That was the question we were asked after sending out our save-the-dates last winter. Yes, we really carved this tree. Yes, we utilized P*shop to enhance it's natural beauty. Wow, I can't believe 7-25-09 is almost here!
