Off to LA!
Fig Studio is taking a trip to LA to do a little design crawling and surfing! I'll do my best to post my finds as the trip rolls along...hopefully from an outdoor cafe in the SUN! Catch up with you all soon...
Cultural Wedding: Jasmine Photography
I saw this beautiful wedding posted on the Jasmine Photography Blog and had to share some of my favorite images. I love the vibrant colors and textures in the traditional clothing and learned quite a bit about Tibetan wedding rituals. Enjoy!

Fresh Cut: Street of Eames
PDX is gearing up for it's annual tour of modern homes, so I thought I'd feature some of Ink and Peat's past floral contributions to the event. Some of these spaces are ultra modern and require a sophisticated floral eye. A spray of roses and Baby's Breath just won't do. (really, that combo should never be an option). Look for Ink and Peat's unique work again this year at the 4th annual fundraiser for after school programs at Chapman Elementary and Beach Elementary in the Portland Public School District.

High Definition Skin
Almost every photographer uses the digital medium to capture all the unique details of your event. While this is truly the best technology to thoroughly document your day, you should also consider the technology you're putting on your face. Professional digital cameras are capable of picking up every little pore, line and blemish. I recently discovered this little gem while browsing the shelves of my local Sephora: Make Up Forever's HD Powder. I wear this mineral silica powder almost daily to create the appearance of airbrushed skin. It's camera-ready and only about $30. A little goes a long way, so one jar will last you well past your big day.

New Jonathan Adler
Sometimes a cheeky accent pillow or rug is all you need to bring a little life into your old space!
Paper Craft: How $.99 Can Make a Big Impact
Fig Studio takes pride in it's Macguyver side, and we're always looking for ways to take everyday objects to their full potential. Don't underestimate the power of tissue paper. Did you know that you can take a $.99 pack of wrapping tissue and make it into incredible hanging artwork? These brides used this simple tissue paper pom craft to make a big impact at their event.

Food For Thought
This amazing supermarket concept, designed by Work Architecture Company for the Philippines, redefines what a chain store experience should be. Don't the apples look like little pieces of art set against this wonderfully fresh backdrop? We can't always shop at a sweet local mom-and-pop outfit, so when we need to hit the mass retailer, shouldn't it be an experience? Images courtesy of www.interiordesign.net

Feature Photographer: Jasmine Photography
Portland based Jasmine Photography is all about the details. I love how they stage rings, shoes and flowers is creative ways (swedish fish + platinum and diamonds) and always have a unique view from their lens. I always wait for new posts on their blog and know first-hand that their work is thorough and professional. Enjoy!
